@MacMungy ~If you ask me, I think this figure is deflated, or not all out of the 61% willing to contribute actually do, due to various reasons.

The backbone of the economy ought consist of street vendors and small businesses. That seems to be the biggest tax base potential from observation - sadly, not all account for.

• i.e;

> In basic / simplified scenario - a local cafe (mama ntilie, mgahawa wa chai etc.) - sells 100 pastry (andazi) on a specific day, accounting for such in regards to daily disclosures of tally - let's say setting aside 18% of respective earnings that day (in regards to his or her earnings x quarter threshold expectations) becomes inconvenient, non consistent, if not a deterrent to the fact that they won't make as much profit due to nature of their 'small' business.

• In addition to hesitancy, ignorance to the fact that tax returns and practices alike by the revenue authority to assure businesses do not falter, rather grow at a scaled pace, is subject tax base inexplotaion.

> Where these small businesses are accounted for - monetary policies and financial measures to support this base; (such as financial modeling) can be employed to further stimulate economic activities of said local cafes as well as vendors and businesses alike to aide with growth.

Current practice of confined profits with no growth plans and or support from public institutions due to in-accountability and registration status of these businesses becomes a thing of the past!.

》How we will employ Business numbers (TIN) and National Identification numbers (NIDA) to help with accountability in addition to spatial accountability - of respective vendors and businesses - will either see incoherent profits or a business environment with expansive tax base and potential for inexplicit growth, as opposed to the current cat and mouse game between authorities and business individuals alike.
