Industries without expansion moreso tend to retain a feature business scenery with regurgitation of specific attributes that keep those at the top firmly there (thus monopoly, monopsony spaces).
Where development of industries is concerned - without differentiation within industrious space, such diverse from specific attributes that define an industry's current state and that of it's leaders - the moreso - the mission and strategy of competitors so too tend to take on a non differing route with those operating within space.
Similar tactics will be deployed in the pursue of attaining results of resemble to those at the top by smaller firms - this creates a theme of copycat antics from players in respective space. Any progress of unique trait from smaller players may see a buy out if not a run down.
As such, complex strategy is of little concern for smaller players, rather tactics to penetrate market space and a basis for coping in business environment.
With that, as strategy - other players may look to employ coping mechanisms prior fully entering market space in the aim of fortifying foundational bearings and curbing threats that target foreseeable opportunities formulated from unique strategy and or unique selling points and I.P. of new entrants.
