Situational Factors: Influence on Human Personality

According to Milgram "Situation exerts an important pressure on the individual. It exercises constraints and may provide push. In certain circumstances, it is not so much the kind of person a man is, as the kind of situation in which he is placed that determines his action"

Milgram certainly does not completely rule out the importance of the developmental aspects of personality but in addition, demonstrated that the situation may potentially have a very big impact on the behavioral expression. - Organizational behavior course material (MIM Chennai-14).
Thoughts? Well from my vantage - the key term here is » Behavioral expression! In addition to social psychology and the quoted above, you can always tell a lot about what an individual stands for and the type of character innate in relation to the spew of behavior a situations warrants. This is to say acting out of character to remedy a situation doesn't necessarily make one who they are in that specific time, rather highlights fight / flight persona attributes and values held dearly as a result of said situational spew. After all (-)+(-) = (+).

In further addition - social psychology; being the coalition of sociology and psychology looks at concentrating on individuals effects on each-other. 

Overview is crucial prior situational oriented behavior; this is to say what may lead up to specific situational spews may be a result of what we hold dearly as society at which is more so swayed by level of education, religious identity, cultural identity and so fourth.

What weaves a society is a combination of subtle understandings, be it direct or indirect, coerced or in mutual agreement in regards to who we are initially / at base as individuals (especially more so leverage where belonging factors are concerned).
